I am a writer, editor, and author, who hails from the Bronx, New York. Currently, I live in Miami, Florida with my wife and two children.

I began my career writing for a local newspaper in the Bronx at age 16. By age 18, I worked my way into an internship with The New York Times. Since then, my non-fiction writing has appeared frequently in the Times, as well as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Paris Review, The Daily Beast, and many other outlets. I also have a Substack called Dwell, which you should check out.

I started writing fiction in college and worked on and off on a novel for a decade. The name and plot changed many, many times. The final title is Victim, and it will be published on March 12, 2024 by Doubleday. You can pre-order the novel here.

Other cool things I’ve done related to writing include teaching fiction and non-fiction writing to elementary school students, college students, and incarcerated men in Florida. I traveled the country with Pop-Up Magazine to deliver a reported, narrative story in front of sold-out audiences. I’ve also lectured frequently about writing, the writing life, and building a writing career to college students, and K-12 students.

My writing has been awarded prizes by Cornell University, The University of Miami, The Susquehanna Review, The Michener Foundation, The Florida Society of News Editors, The Florida Press Club, and The Society of Professional Journalists.
